First view of India...

Written on 12th Janurary

We've arrived. We've cried. Had our first power cut. Laughed so much our tummies hurt, been upgraded to business class travel & eaten our first Indian spices (right handed only)!

I know the cliché 'Sights and Smells of India', but there's no other way to describe it simply. The roads are crazy. Men crossing dual carriage way like traffic swarms with goats cradled in their arms, (big goats too!). Goats in bins, dogs in bins, bucket showering, no toilet rolls (at all!) and horns beeping everywhere - but I guess that's just India.

We've been in the city of Hyderabad for two nights for orientation to get rest and a feel for the country. Our reps Abhilash, Bhravi and Sughiti are the most loving and caring people who'll act as a support network for us. Izzy and Miriam will be leaving us tomorrow, flying down to Bangalore whilst Jade and I prepare for our 9 hour (it turned into 12!) sleeper train journey down to our project in Ongole! See you there... X
